OK, so Im not a DJ but as a promoter we run in the same circles. I can tell you with confidence that MOST DJs dont like taking requests!! Yes I know you're there to have a good time and wanna hear a certain song for your birthday or a song that reminds you of an ex that cheated on you with your sister or you wanna rock out with your c### out BUT DJs already have a set of songs they're gonna play mapped out for the night. They may start out slow to get the crowd riled up and then build momentum to something crackin n fast beat to keep partiers on the dance floor and end with a bang.
If you think about it its almost rude to interrupt a DJ while they are "in the zone". How many DJs go into your job and tell you how to flip a burger?! Oh see! Now you get my point?!
