OK maybe not so much.
Have you ever wanted to be a promoter? Do you think its all fun n games? Womanizing, drinking, partying in VIP... you wanna look like ur Ballin Out Of Control too!!! Truth of the matter is it IS all that and much more. You're thinkin much more?? Hell yeah! It gets better, sign me up! Nope, I didnt say it gets better. I am saying its a lot of work behind the scenes that you dont see.
Here is more of the flip side and reality to nightclub promotions....
-Many Promoters have an actual day job or primary job. Their "steady income".
-Many Promoters spend their promotions payout as quick as they get it. Dennys late night!
-Many Promoters can not maintain a relationship. Either no time or better eye candy out there.
-Many Promoters look and act the part of baller but spend their last $10 in gas to get to the club.
-Many Promoters are slaves to their cell phone, e-mail, etc when receiving guestlist names.
-Many Promoters lose contact from friends/family because they decrease time with them and increase time with their paper chase.
-Many Promoters come out of pocket from their personal income/savings to advance their promotions.
-Many Promoters although money is usually under the table do not have a Business License and do not know the first step on how to get one.
The above is not to deter anyone interested in promotions or bash on the promoters lifestlyle. It is simply a Promoters Life. I know because I am one. I respectfully and wholeheartedly give my props due to all NightClub Promoters out there on the grind.
