Honestly, I love DJ Hero because its hella fun. Who wouldnt wanna mix n scratch to Jay-Z n Eminem?! The thing is that its highly likely that in the subsequent years up and coming DJs will give credit to their humble beginnings to "DJ Hero". <~~Quite similar to how Serato DJs gave credit to original Vinyl DJs right? go figure! A software killed Vinyl DJs like this video game will saturate DJs on the scene.
Let me at least speak up for the DJ Community and say it is so extremely hard nowadays to even get a gig. You have clubs going outside your local scene, low-balling you for some god-forsaken low amount, there is no loyalty from DJ to club and definitely from club to DJ, experienced DJs are passed up for "where the fuck did you come from" DJs, god forbid you get blacklisted by even one club because word spreads like wild fire and the list goes on.
My input... for whatever its worth take it or leave it...
New DJs if you're truly in it for the love and passion of DJing and saving lives with your music then step up your game.
Plain n simple "Open up for other DJs til you get a night in. Dont play what you want... play what your crowd wants. Let your music take them higher!
Established DJs. Dont ever get too comfortable and complacent. Theres another DJ right behind you ready to take your place. DJ like your a fuckin Maestro in a concert! Like your life depends on it every time your in front of the turntables!
Plain n simple When you feel you have achieved greatness "reinvent yourself". See those trends and be innovators before your peers.
Hey, Im just sayin'
